Common Fridge Problems We Fix
❄️ Fridge Not Cooling or Cooling Less
This is the most common fridge problem. The reason is almost always a gas leak — either from the evaporator (the chamber inside that creates cold) or the condenser (the warm side on the back or bottom of the fridge).
Here is exactly how we find and fix it —
✅ Step 1 — Pressure Test on the Chamber
We cut the gas valve and apply 200 PSI pressure to the evaporator chamber. We seal both sides and leave it for 24 hours. If pressure holds — the chamber is fine. If it drops — there is a leak inside.
✅ Step 2 — Chamber Repair with 100% Copper Pipe
If the evaporator chamber is leaking, we rebuild it from scratch using 100% copper pipe — the most durable material for fridge chambers. After rebuilding, we seal it properly with foam sheet for maximum insulation.
✅ Step 3 — Condenser Check
If the chamber is fine but the fridge still isn't cooling, we check the condenser (the warm coil on the outside). If damaged, we replace it with a new one.
🔌 Fridge Suddenly Stops Working
If your fridge runs for a while and then shuts off — or doesn't start at all — the problem is usually the relay or overload protector connected to the compressor.
✅ We check both parts first
✅ If faulty, we replace them immediately — this is a quick and affordable fix
✅ If the relay and overload are fine, we check the compressor itself
✅ If the compressor is damaged, we replace it — with gas charge included
🌡️ Too Much Ice Building Up — Thermostat Problem
If your fridge never stops running and ice keeps building up higher and higher inside — the thermostat is likely faulty. The thermostat controls when the fridge turns off and on automatically. When it fails, the fridge runs non-stop and ice accumulates abnormally.
✅ We test the thermostat and replace it if needed
✅ After replacement, your fridge will cycle normally again
🛢️ Normal Section Not Cooling — Oil Flush & Capillary Cleaning
Sometimes the deep freezer section works fine but the normal fridge section stops cooling. This happens when compressor oil rises into the evaporator coil — blocking the capillary tube and reducing cooling.
Here is how we fix it —
✅ Release old gas completely
✅ Flush the coil with special cleaning solution (works like a medicine — removes all oil buildup)
✅ Clean and clear the capillary tube — so gas flows freely again
✅ Check and clear the filter drier if blocked
✅ Refill with fresh gas after cleaning
After this process, your normal section cools properly again.
Why choose our Fridge Repair Service in Mirpur,Dhaka
A family in a 5th floor apartment in Mirpur Section 10 had a Hitachi two-door fridge where the interior light had stopped working. This seems like a minor issue but it indicates a specific electrical fault — either the light bulb or LED has failed, the door switch that activates the light has failed, or there is a wiring issue in the lighting circuit. Our technician arrived at their Section 10 building, assessed the fridge lighting system and found that the door switch — the small button that activates the light when the door opens — had a stuck plunger that was no longer releasing correctly. The switch was replaced and the light activated normally with every door opening. While completing the light repair, our technician also noticed that the fridge compressor was running significantly hotter than normal — indicating the condenser coil at the back of the fridge was heavily dust-loaded. We cleaned the condenser coil as part of the visit, reducing the compressor operating temperature noticeably. Mr. Shahidur gave us a five-star review and specifically mentioned that finding and addressing the compressor overheating issue during the light repair visit had been valuable he had not anticipated.
