Common Fridge Problems We Fix
❄️ Fridge Not Cooling or Cooling Less
This is the most common fridge problem. The reason is almost always a gas leak — either from the evaporator (the chamber inside that creates cold) or the condenser (the warm side on the back or bottom of the fridge).
Here is exactly how we find and fix it —
✅ Step 1 — Pressure Test on the Chamber
We cut the gas valve and apply 200 PSI pressure to the evaporator chamber. We seal both sides and leave it for 24 hours. If pressure holds — the chamber is fine. If it drops — there is a leak inside.
✅ Step 2 — Chamber Repair with 100% Copper Pipe
If the evaporator chamber is leaking, we rebuild it from scratch using 100% copper pipe — the most durable material for fridge chambers. After rebuilding, we seal it properly with foam sheet for maximum insulation.
✅ Step 3 — Condenser Check
If the chamber is fine but the fridge still isn't cooling, we check the condenser (the warm coil on the outside). If damaged, we replace it with a new one.
🔌 Fridge Suddenly Stops Working
If your fridge runs for a while and then shuts off — or doesn't start at all — the problem is usually the relay or overload protector connected to the compressor.
✅ We check both parts first
✅ If faulty, we replace them immediately — this is a quick and affordable fix
✅ If the relay and overload are fine, we check the compressor itself
✅ If the compressor is damaged, we replace it — with gas charge included
🌡️ Too Much Ice Building Up — Thermostat Problem
If your fridge never stops running and ice keeps building up higher and higher inside — the thermostat is likely faulty. The thermostat controls when the fridge turns off and on automatically. When it fails, the fridge runs non-stop and ice accumulates abnormally.
✅ We test the thermostat and replace it if needed
✅ After replacement, your fridge will cycle normally again
🛢️ Normal Section Not Cooling — Oil Flush & Capillary Cleaning
Sometimes the deep freezer section works fine but the normal fridge section stops cooling. This happens when compressor oil rises into the evaporator coil — blocking the capillary tube and reducing cooling.
Here is how we fix it —
✅ Release old gas completely
✅ Flush the coil with special cleaning solution (works like a medicine — removes all oil buildup)
✅ Clean and clear the capillary tube — so gas flows freely again
✅ Check and clear the filter drier if blocked
✅ Refill with fresh gas after cleaning
After this process, your normal section cools properly again.
Why choose our Fridge Repair Service in Bashundhara,Dhaka
A family in K Block of Bashundhara Residential Area had a 3-year-old LG non-frost fridge with a specific problem — the fridge was cooling normally but there was a continuous water dripping sound from inside the unit, and occasionally water was pooling at the bottom of the normal section. This symptom indicates a blocked defrost drain — the water produced during the automatic defrost cycle cannot drain correctly and accumulates inside the unit. Our technician arrived at their K Block apartment and confirmed the blocked drain diagnosis — the drain tube from the defrost drain pan had become blocked with ice and debris. We cleared the drain completely, flushed it with warm water to ensure free flow and advised the family on the maintenance of keeping items away from the drain area at the back of the fridge interior. The dripping sound stopped immediately and no water accumulation recurred. Mr. Khalid gave us a five-star review and mentioned our technician's explanation of how the defrost drain works had been educational — he had not known this component existed before the repair. We repair fridges across all Bashundhara blocks.
