A retired senior official in Motijheel Colony had a Toyota Camry with a seat belt fault — the driver's seat belt would not fully retract after use. It would pull back about halfway and then stop, leaving the belt hanging in front of the door. Partial retraction on a seat belt indicates a weak retractor spring — not a failed spring but one that has lost tension through age. The Camry was 9 years old and the original retractor spring had fatigued over years of use. The retractor assembly was replaced with a new unit — restoring full retraction force.
